The residents of backwoods community Muglet-on-Stumpings are surprised when their hamlet is drawn by lottery as being the place for that rarest of things : a substantiation of one of their money gods.
Which God will arrive? And in whose body will the incarnation take place.
We follow the long-suffering protagonist, unpleasant husband, and a motley collection of relatives and friends as the big day approaches. And finally we find out which God it is, and which of them is to host the God (it’s not a process that you survive!), and whether any immediate vengeance will be wreaked (wroken??)
No real surprises though in the answer to those questions. But a nicely told, warts and all creation by Grimsley.
