A singleton story in this third and final volume in the trilogy, and it’s a story that would have worked well as an opening installment in a three part story which would explore the nature of the apocalypse.
As it is, the story is fairly light on the details of what has happened as it gives but a little backstory to an interview between a scientist on one of a strange creature specifically created to help with the conflict just finished. There have been unforseen consequences with the creatures, though, who are now a threat due to their ability to link psychically with each other. And as the interrogation goes further, the increased nature of the threat is revealed (although not further clarified).
