Clever stories within stories from Bossert, who has a crew of miners in orbit around Europa passing some offduty time with two new crew members by a game that involves each member telling two stories, with the others needing to guess which one is true, which is a fiction.
A long, dark night is spent on an alien planet, as three humans stumble onto a Yu Stigmergic Colony, a strange lifeform that, if it senses them, will react instantly and consume them.
A delicieuse yeastpunk story from Bossert. It’s inventive and clever, the characters are non-normative, and the ending rounds a great story off nicely.
The second best story about a military fighter plane with the capacity to make its own decisions in combat that I’ve read in the last week!
The pick of the issue.
A little by-the-numbers with Avataresque good scientist/bad industrialist roles, but the ending gives a flash of something a bit different.
