Langan closed the first in this trilogy of anthologies with a ‘bleak (although ultimately human)’ story, with a planet-killer impact about to take place, and those who have tickets heading for deep, deep refuges.
This is equally, if not more bleak, as the very final hours and minutes are explored in a military/scientific compound, with the extent to which sacrifices are going to have to be made for humanity to survive explored. Human frailty and bravery are explored, alongside human stupidity. Roll on the concluding story in the next volume!
Walking Dead fans would love to see this as a TV series.
