A coastal village setting for a tale about a young fisherman estranged from the sea following being thrown overboard from a fishing boat and injured, but saved my a mysterious creature from the sea, whom he subsequently marries. It’s nicely told (none of the clunkiness I noted in Sharma’s previous Albedo One story) but even for someone who doesn’t read much fantasy, the story felt similar to many I’d read in the past.
