A sort of Horton Hears a Who for smart grownups. Not really, but tenuous enought for a weak pun on the editor’s name. I’ve not read as much of Ford of late, since a primary source of his excellent fiction was the much lamented (at least in this household) SCI FICTION. Daltharee is a city in a jar, a small city filled with humans, created in miniature by scientific advancement. Ford looks at the world from the perspectives of those in it, themselves looking out, and those outside, wanting to look in, and willing to take the ultimate step to be a true observer. Intriguing stuff.
