Wilson didn’t have a story in the first volume, so we have (probably) the first of a two-parter. Being a bit picky, it’s not really a tale of the apocalypse (yet).
But it’s cleverly done, with an automaton made in the 6ft 8inch image of Peter the Great surviving the death of the Tsar and fleeing for his (clockwork) life, with a fellow automaton, and there’s a bloody reckoning to be had on a snowy battlefield.
