The Year’s Best Science Fiction. 29th Annual Collection. (ed Gardner Dozois, St. Martin’s Press, 2012).

A few stories that don’t quite do it for me, but otherwise a great read.

The Year’s Best Science Fiction & Fantasy 2012. (ed. Rich Horton, Prime Books 2012)

Wow, I’ve read all of Horton’s 2012 volume in 2012, a big improvement over previous years.

Over 300,000 words of fiction as ever, although the volume is slimmer than usual…

The Year’s Best Science Fiction. 27th Annual Collection. (ed Gardner Dozois, St. Martin’s Press, 2010).

Phew! Finished off the stories in Dozois’ take on the best of 2009, just in time to address the soon to be published year’s bests for 2010.

horton2010

The Year’s Best Science Fiction & Fantasy 2010. (ed Rich Horton). Prime Books 2010.

A handsome book, and Horton has cast his net very far and very wide, he certainly can’t be faulted for being conservative in the range of sources from which he chooses.
